The top six acts of “The Pop Stage” are set to take the center stage one last time as they compete for the Php 1 million grand prize along with a one-year-contract with Viva Artist Agency, on the show’s grand finals on August 2.
The top six grand finalists are Job Christian Tolonghari, who performed a two-part musical short featuring his original songs about following his passions; Dia Mate, who impressed the judges and viewers with her refreshing and calming song number; ROXORBEAT, who took his beatboxing talent to the next level by incorporating a harmonica and showing how he can simultaneously produce ten beats from his mouth; CJ Villavicencio, who showed his singing skills and acting chops, as he performed an Eraserheads medley with a theatrical storyline; El-John Zian, who was an all-out pop star as he showed intense choreography to his original song “Whatever It Takes;” and spoken-word poet Martin Naling, who delivered a heart-wrenching piece about the death of his father, his past struggles, and his ongoing journey to pursuing his dreams.
The online show’s host and creator, Matteo Guidicelli, together with singers Jed Madela and Lani Misalucha, and G-Force dancer Ritz Beltran, gave their scores and opinions about the performances based on originality and creativity, quality of performance, and entertainment value.
Following the final performances of the top six contestants, The Pop Stage will be concluding with a Grand Finale on August 2 where the country’s next biggest star will be named.
