I admit I’m not good with numbers and I go crazy whenever it’s review time for Math. So, when hubby is available, he teaches our grade schooler because I literally get headaches lol. Since we started homeschooling this year, I’ve been reading up about this Singapore Math program that can make your kid learn and love the subject and honestly, make parents’ lives easier too.
One of the measures of parenting success is the achievements of the children upon entering adulthood. Raising a child is a very challenging role but seeing them grow into a good and responsible individuals makes parenting very rewarding.
“Raising a family is not as easy as ABC, especially at the child’s formative years from ages 1 to 12. You have to focus on forming your child’s character while balancing work and family life,” said parenting and relationship consultant Maribel Dionisio.
Another challenge to address is starting a family. Most couples may feel confident that they are emotionally and mentally prepared for family life, but many would be doubtful about their financial capability to do so.
“A well-planned financial goal is also crucial in the early stages of starting a family,” said Dionisio. “For parents, especially those who are planning to have 2 or more kids, it is important that they start planning for their kids’ college education as early as when their child starts to walk,” Dionisio continues.
My sons are not homeschooled, they go to regular/traditional schools with yearly tuition fee hikes. I know of some parents who homeschool their children and I wondered why. For some time I’ve been curious as to what benefits do they get and the effects on their children. I asked around, observed, did some research. Came to a point where I wanted to pull-out my youngest in his current grade school because of several reasons. I think it’s not bad at all, you know, to homeschool the kids, especially if you are financially burdened with all the monthly expenses. But then, it’s not an easy escape plan from all the financial stress. The education of your kids is one of the most important thing in their lives. Jeopardize it and their future will be broken.

I’ve always wanted to learn about how to properly and beautifully put on makeup. Not that I am planning to pursue a career in professional makeup artistry but I just wanna look great in person and in photos especially now that selfies are trending, lol. I’ve taken a few classes actually but I feel that I need to learn more.

We always hear our elders say that the next generation is the future of our country. I agree, that’s why my husband and I are doing everything we can to plan and save for our children’s education and future. Kudos to companies and organizations too, such as Philam Life and World Vision for helping indigent families to have bright future ahead.

Music is all around us. Here at home, I hear it every single day. I love music more so if it’s my genre, the ’80s (now you know how old I am, lol). Love it when I hear my kids sing their fave pop songs though most of the time, my 5 year old keeps repeating the same songs over and over. Lately, he’s been tapping his cousin’s new 88 key keyboard, pretending to be a musician. On some days, we’ll see him stringing his brother’s guitar or holding the mic while singing Maroon 5’s Payphone.
